Just
before lunchtime today the final six Dutch Venturers finally arrived at
Fieldbase. They had been due to arrive from London yesterday with the rest of
their colleagues, but their flight from Amsterdam to London had been cancelled
for technical reasons.
On
the positive side, their trip from Bangalore airport to Fieldbase was much quicker than yesterday, as the strike is now over and the bus could use
the more direct route.
After
a brief welcome and settling in, they have already met their fellow Venturers and PMs,
and are joining in this afternoon's sessions with them. Hitting the ground
yawning, so to speak.
So,
everyone on Expedition 12J has now arrived. Let the fun begin…
MESSAGE FOR JORIS MOOLHUIJSEN, wat heb jij gisteren een lange reis gehad, begreep dat iedereen nu is aangekomen. Ze gaan jullie vast meteen onderdompelen in allerlei activiteiten. kun je je spullen een beetje vinden in je rugzak?? Hoe is het met je vinger, zal nu vast weer beter gaan als de pus weg is. Lekker saai en stil hier thuis en verder niks te beleven. We zijn onze spullen aan het pakken om morgenvroeg te vertrekken.Pap is nog steeds hout aan het sjouwen met een snotneus. Heel veel plezier Joor en good luck de aankomende 3 weken, we gaan op het blog lezen waar je als eerste heengaat en we bloggen als we tijd hebben en internet. Heel veel liefs Pap en Mam

ReplyDeleteAl eerder geprobeerd Joris, maar ik zie het bericht niet verschijnen, dus nog een keertje, wie weet lukt het. Je bent wel in een andere wereld terecht gekomen hé? Zag je op de foto en ook een foto van slaapzakken op een matje. Gelukkig kun jij wel wat aan, maar je lijf zal wel even moeten wennen denk ik. Op school gaat alles z'n gangetje, misschien wel wat stilletjes. Op school lukt het nog niet met de blog. Geblokkeerd natuurlijk, je kent 't wel. Ik heb die systeembeheerder nog niet te pakken, misschien morgen, dan kunnen anderen ook proberen om je een berichtje te sturen. Jesse had nog contact gehad via facebook zei hij, dat werkt dus ook nog. Tot volgende berichten, ben benieuwd naar je belevenissen. groetjes Joke

ReplyDeleteKANA! How are you? How is India? Did you get there safe? What's it like? Ahh I have so many questions I want to ask you right now. I am very jealous of you right now - Oxford is pretty dull at the moment - it's getting colder and seems to rain all the time (I am not exaggerating). I went to G&D's today in my lunch break and I miss the times we used to go! Do you happen to know the address of where you are staying? Perhaps I could send you a postcard. I'll check back here in a few days (not sure how to find my original comment but I'll try my very hardest to) to find your address and send you a postcard!

ReplyDeleteHi Hidde, hoe gaat t allemaal? zo balen voor je die voet! Heb vandaag niks van je gehoord dus dat is hoop ik n goed teken!!:). Ik vertrek morgen naar NY, zal ik je even niet kunnen volgen, maar als ik maandag weer thuis ben hoop ik fijn weer wat nieuws via de blog te horen. Ik ben zo benieuwd hoe t daar allemaal is! Ben gisteren bij opa geweest, tante Colette, oom Gies en oom Jan en natuurlijk opa wilden alles over je reis weten, ze vinden t super dat je dit doet! ReplyDeleteHi kleine garnaal! Ik kijk elke dag naar deze blog en vind het zo leuk om te horen wat jullie allemaal doen en wat foto's van jullie te zien. Zo te zien ben je helemaal lekker jezelf en heb je het naar je zin:) Ik dacht nu moet Coco ook wat schrijven op deze blog tochhhh?! Hier gaat alles goed en Cartje woont nog steeds bij mij. ReplyDeleteJo len, hoe is het daar in het verre India? Is alles een beetje uit te houden? Lekker aan het discussieren met de locals? Hier in Delft is het heel chill nu. Ik heb net de tussentoetsen er op zitten (en behoorlijk verpest, maar dat maakt niet uit) en over een paar weken de eerste echte tentamens. Als je weer terug bent moet je maar een keer langskomen! I sent you an email but think now that the venturers have arrived you are getting ready for trekking, if you haven't already started?!
Thought I'd check in with my weekly GBBO update (and for anyone else if they're interested)
It was French week and they made loads of little french cakes, choux pastry and an awesome French cake...and next week is the final so they were all battling out to be the best. Brendan did pretty well coz he's a perfectionist and James (the jock) kinda messed up but the judges liked him for it and gave him star baker, not sure if Brendan was plesed.......anyways Danny (the girl) got booted off so it is an all male final with John (scouse young dude), John and Brendan and and and they have to make fondant fancies next week!!! (that was one of the things they showed)
I will update you with anymore news as it comes in
Hope you are having fun, it is grey today and getting dark in the evening - gonna get me a onesie and slanket and hibernate for the next few months...

ReplyDeleteLieve Fred. Moet nu toegeven dat ik zelf ook geen reet van deze blog snap. Begrijp nu waarom jullie er vorig jaar enigszins probleempjes mee hebben gehad. Las je smsje vandaag en begreep van Simmie dat je morgen dus eindelijk gaat beginnen. Dezelfde volgorde als ik, trek als laatste helemaal chill! Lieve lieve lieve aapie, ik moet alweer bijna huilen als ik die foto's van die kleine kindjes zie. Wat ga jij het leuk hebben! Over 3 weekjes ben ik vlakbij je haha. Naja in Mumbai dan.
