Alpha One have already been to visit the eco-sanitation units at the neighbouring village and are settling-in well at Hosekerasunda. Today they started work on the next ten units that they will be working on this Phase.
Alpha Two spent yesterday sorting out the Bungalow and getting to know their surroundings. Early this morning the group were out working on their first elephant-proof trench and the afternoon has been spent planning for their other project they will be busy with during Phase Two – improving the garden around the Bungalow for the rangers.
Alpha Three had a great first day yesterday and reached their first site at Thenmalai in good time. Today they are making their way to Silent Valley. The first loop will be setting off down to Kerala tomorrow to take some supplies and messages to the group, which we will keep you updated about.

Hi kirst...have finally figured out how to use this blog thing..i'm a bit of a dinosaur! looks like you're having such fun, very jealous...you've got quite a tan going already and your group look pretty cool! What are you doing at the moment? Text me when you can. Got your letter...thank you very much! Am working pretty much flat out at the moment but will send you one back soon. Have been looking at flights to Thailand for July/August...probably going to be about £450...think we could manage that? Would be lots of fun. Have asked for a spare ticket for you for my graduation (if I actually manage to get a degree) so hopefully see you in July?

ReplyDeletewe arrived safely to join you on the sub continent and seem to have brought the rain with us. Horrendous leaving LHR all sorts of flights cancelled we were 1/2 hour late into Madras. Mahabalipurum was too templey by far for Dad just arrived Pondi - all v French Hotel amazing. Walked up v steep steps to fort Gingee today - thought of you we're quite exhausted but the views were magnificent.
Think of you even more here, do hope you're not getting too wet/exhausted on the expedition.

Ems off skiing tomorrow in Meribel, leaving about 4.30am(!)- but going out partying tonight, someones 21st, so probably won't get to bed at all! She has been trying to buy some more of her black jeans in London, we couldn't find them anywhere but eventually managed to find them on internet in Paris! Theo went and bought them for her and will take them to Meribel... so kind and Em is thrilled! We had a bad flood in the kitchen last night, the whole floor under water this morning.
