TIGER!

BIG NEWS FROM ALPHA 2

A tiger has just been sighted by the safari-goers from Kalaiahnahalla's Team Toilet!

This is the first tiger any venturer - or anyone at all, actually - has seen whilst on a Raleigh India expedition.

Eight members from Alpha 2 opted to join a safari during their day off today and were rewarded for the effort with a sighting of the rare big cat. They were so excited they called Fieldbase immediately to brag.

Hopefully we'll get photos for you in the next few days.

More from the Raleigh project sites later today.

    Hi Zoe,

It's the uncontrollable dad tapping the keyboard!! Haven't posted a message for a few days so it's about due.

Guess when you get to read this, you will be close to the end of the final phase.

We are all really looking forward to seeing you again after such a long time and Meg has been practising her bum-wiggle and squeals when you ask that question!!

I see that Alpha2 actually got to see a tiger so I expect there will be a degree of envy there from everyone.

When you get back we are hoping that the house will be plastered again (me too if it really is done and I get into the Wagon & Horses!!). Then it is "redecorate" time and "let's put the floorboards back before someone ends up in hall" time.

We will not be going to Northborough over Easter after all now as it is clashing with them dashing about in support of Bens Gold D of E practice. Not sure what this will entail for Ben, in your case, we just picked up the resultant wreck from school afterwards, shoved it in the bath, put the clothes in the washing machine, the boots in the bottom shed, Tiger Balm on the aches and pains and applied some TLC!! Anyway they are popping down to us for the day on Good Friday (tomorrow) inc hounds. Meg is going to be soooo happy to see her little boy and girl again!!!!

We went to see Slumdog Millionaire last night, very powerful film though Mum closed her eyes in parts. There was one bit I found really "yuk" in a poo'ey sort of way which those who have seen it will understand and you will when you see it - won't spoil it though. There at the same time were Lizzie and her parents plus half of Marlborough...well, a goodly crowd anyway. All were very well and Lizzie said she would be leaving a message on the blog. You are summoned to Bristol to visit when you get back or a Lizzie curse will fall upon you, I think!!

Have fun in the final push to the end. We wait to see what Boss Blog tells of you guys escapades when the blog is updated.

    Lots of love from
Mum and Dad and licks from Meg

  3. Dearest Joanna, hope you are enjoying your final phase. All well here. Dad did a couple of laps at Goodwood in the Lotus and then lost his gears and had to stop - very sad as the car was going so well, it is very beautiful and has lots of admirers! Pete came 9th in the race last weekend and Dad 2nd in class- both boys very pleased with this result. 12 for lunch on Easter Sunday including Grannny and Grandpa, and then Pete is off to Sardinia with Holly for a week. Building progressing well now, and dogs noisy as usual. Enjoy the heat while you can, it is not very warm here. Looking forward to hearing all your stories.
    much love from us all.
Mum and Dad, Pete, Soph, Bea and Lola

  4. Hi Dear Tilly,
we are just thinking how incredibly well you have done in India, and now you are on your final
project we hope you will have a big, BIG, celebration. Dont forget to get some phone numbers and addresses of friends that you want to keep in touch with, and make sure you give them yours! I expect it has all been so exciting that you might have forgotten your mobile number!!! We forget ours all the time, so we will send you a letter, and put your phone number and Campbell Road address on it, just as a reminder.
Oh yes, and dont forget to buy some nice souvenirs to bring home....like a couple of Raleigh T-shirts to show off when you get back to London.
We are keeping some Easter chocs for you, and a birthday present, you lucky girl. (I'll have to make sure your dad doesn't eat the chocs!)
Amazing news about Alpha 2 seeing a Tiger, and we are wondering if you have seen any elephants.
You will be quite an eco expert now.

We are looking forward to hearing all your news, and it has been great to see all the photos on this website, we are saving them for you, so you can have some fabulous memories.

Just enjoy the rest of your adventure, have some fun, as well as all the hard work you are doing to help people on these important projects.

    Lots of Love

    Mum and Dad
