After a fantastic change over with softball, a fashion show and a masked ball the phase 3 Alpha Groups deployed to their new and final projects.
As the venturers all knew which project they were being allocated to - they had to hunt for their project manager team who were hiding around Field Base.
The 3 Alpha groups have now deployed and settled into their new project sites. As of the Comms Checks this morning, alpha groups are all safe and sound and getting to know their new surroundings. Alpha One have kicked into action in the community to begin building their eco-sanitation units, Alpha Two are moving into the staff quarters in National Park - this time building an Anti Poaching Camp in one Phase and Alpha Three are in Kerala getting ready for their first trekking day, accompanied by a little rain!!!
Alpha One - Community Project: PM Team - Ros Hook, Jo Harding and Nikki Curry. Venturer's - Andrew Taylor, Emma Jameson, Jagadessan, Jayesh, Joanna Hough, Karl Pinch, Manjula, Phillipa East, Thurairaj and William Coulson.
Alpha Two Environmental Project: PM Team - Dr Zoe Brummell, Ivan Phillips, Hamish Shepherd. Venturer's - Arend Van Haaften, Guus Kruseman, Jayshree Jadav, Jennifer Rosam, Krishnaveni, Murali, Richard Rankin, Rober Lee and Sivakumar.
Alpha Three - Kurangani Trek: PM Team - Julia Mitchell, Zoe Challenor, Robin Cashmore, Antje Haut. Venturer's - Alexander Gregory, Amanda Cormie, Amile Felton, Ayesha, Cara Meehan,
Caroline Hewitt, Gary Hutton, Jamie Fitzroy, Kahar, Sam Thorne and Sulfee.

ReplyDeleteMumbai is featuring heavily in the news here and Rammie texted me this morning to check that you aren't in the area.
Just to let you know that I'm not too worried and that you shouldn't be either - Mumbai is a pressure cooker and there has been a number of outbreaks of terrible violence there over the years but my understanding is that the south is more politically stable.
Duck is worried though and even suggested to Punky that he needed a holiday and could have his ticket - Punky then waxed lyrical about the generosity and thoughfulness of Duck.

ReplyDeleteVanuit Arnhem een bericht van Diderik. Je brief (van 11 nov) is goed ontvangen, veel dank daarvoor (vooral namens Jacob). Het is leuk om te lezen dat het goed gaat, en zijn benieuwd naar je verhalen (en beseffen dat het geen zin heeft om hier te vragen hoe het is, omdat je toch niet direct kunt antwoorden).
We zullen de brief goed bewaren, en tzt aan jou terug geven, dat is leuk om later terug te lezen! Of maak je zelf al iets van een verslag? Dat is wel aan te raden, vooral aan de hand van foto's. Ik weet dat het vervelend is om steeds bij te houden, maar uiteindelijk wel de moeite waard!
Hier moeten we nog 3 of 4 weken studeren, en dan hebben we vakantie. We hebben natuurlijk zin om naar Villars te gaan. Waarschijnlijk wordt het een drukke en gezellige boel.
Weet jij al wat je na afloop gaat doen? Het lijkt me tof voor je om daar nog wat rond te trekken of iets dergelijks. Dan kun je 'de andere kant' van India zien. (Maar als je mee naar Zwitserland komt, lijkt mij dat hartstikke tof, gaan we samen skieen!!)
Hoe dan ook, ik wens je het beste, en zie je snel weer.

over dat reizen, als het niet veilig is voor buitenlanders, denk dan eerst goed na voor je op pad gaat.
kwam harmen vanmorgen tegen, was geloof ik wat laat. hij had een krabbel bij die haloween-foto's achtergelaten. weet niet of je ook krabbels te zien krijgt die bij oudere post is geschreven.

To Jay, well this is weird writing one of these instead of reading them! Hope everything's going ok and that you're having an amazing time on environmental - don't let those masons work you too hard! Got home fine but missing you guys like CRAZY! It's so weird being back here, it's absolutely freezing and there's christmas stuff everywhere!..really wishing I was still in india (I know, it's my own fault!) ReplyDeleteMomma J and PJ here. We went swimming at Cheltenham today - wow! It was initially a "BIT BRACING" but soon gorgeous and no sharks in sight he,he! The weather this weekend has been amazing. PJ did his happy seal bit famously. Not a cloud in the sky - so stunning. We went to Les Pyrenees to buy croissants and pain au chocolat for Christmas = Miam! Miam! We also couldn't resist the pear tart slice and flat white - we sat reading the paper post swim with coffee and yummy French pastry. Sarah (wait for it) got A+ for the subjunctive thesis!!!! Bubbles ...tres cher ones.. awaiting your return for mega celebrations. ReplyDeleteIk kan me voorstellen dat je nauwelijks kunt slapen om de resultaten van Ajax te vernemen. Vorige week zondag verkloren van AZ (2-0), woensdag gewonnen in Hamburg van HSV (1-0)en vanmiddag gelijk in de Arena tegen Utrecht. AZ aan kop met 3 punten voorsprong op Ajax als nr 2 en NAC als 3.Het ziet er allemaal heel erg leuk en ontspannen uit in India. Ben vrijdag jl. met de NobelBoys op PhRM geweest. Wel een ruwe bende!
Geniet heel erg veel de komende weken. En als je nog een scholenproject hebt voor ondersteuining door LP, laat het weten!

Ik geloof dat je over 2 weken al thuis komt als je niet gaat trekken, het zal wel gevaarlijk zijn met die aanslagen enzo. Wij gaan skiën met z'n allen, volgens mij ligt er al lekker veel sneeuw kunnen we zien op de webcam. Vrijdag is het zoals je denk ik wel weet sinterklaas, je mist niets hoor:P. ReplyDeleteje bent nu inmiddels een weekje bij je park. ik denk dat je zelf 's nachts de tijgers wel verjaagd. Las in een van de comments dat soms wel anderen van je wakker worden. Grappig eigenlijk, maakt dus niet uit of je in Azië, Amerika of Europa zit. Hoe vordert het anti-poaching werk? Even zwaar als de andere phases? En heb je daar ook contact met de lokale mensen? Hier is niet zo veel nieuws. Gr. Vader gaat 3/12woensdag naar Fairways. misschien is er een koper. laten we het hopen. 15/12 gaat Gr.V naar Villars. daar zullen we elkaar weer rond 21/12 zien! JC met de kinderen komen 21/12 ook. verheugen ons allemaal op het weerzien met jou. Ben bang dat de brief er bij inschiet. is ook zo verleidelijk op deze blog alles te schrijven, en te weten dat je dit eerder leest dan wellicht mijn brief aankomt. De comments worden geloof ik ook steeds langer !!Pappa was zojuist in pietpaniek. je kent de reactie wel! al zijn dagwerk op de pc was verdwenen, gelukkig toverde martine na enig aanhoren het document weer tevoorschijn. (als het trekkingen waren) was die van jullie ongeveer het zelfde?? het ziet er wel heel cool uit! hier gaat het goed, ondanks alles... kom je nog naar Zwitserland? lijkt me heel erg leuk om je weer te zien! maar het lijkt me ook leuk voor jou om nog rond te trekken in India.
Tante Thalie komt elke donderdag of woensdag naar Arnhem, heel gezellig, ik hoor van haar dingen over hoe je het hebt daar, het klinkt heel spannend!

ReplyDeleteVandaag 5 december maar een gedicht omdat Sinterklaas daar voor is gezwicht. Hij heeft lang gezocht en ook voor jou een kadootje gekocht. hebben vanavond met ons vijven Sinterklaas gevierd. Was heel erg gezellig, maar houden voor jou nog wel wat over! Martine heeft tot zover ik het hoor goede cijfers gehaald voor haar SE's. Voor wiskunde een 8 of zo iets, het hoogste van de klas! Geniet nog deze twee weken van ontspannenheid! ReplyDeleteGisteren toch maar sinterklaas gevierd. was 's morgens nog van plan het heel low-profile te houden, maar in de loop van de dag aangestoken door de sintkoorts en wat lekkere geurtjes voor de meisjes gekocht. Annalie kwam ook thuis , dus het was uiteindelijk allemaal gezellig. Volgend jaar ben jij er weer bij, dan gaan we het weer uitgebreid vieren, OK?
Denken nog steeds veel aan je en zijn erg benieuwd of we je 17/12 op kunnen halen van het vliegveld.
Vanmiddag heeft Elsemiek weer gespeeld, gewonnen, en goal gemaakt. dus ons weekend is weer in orde! Hoe vorderen jullie met je anti-poaching hutten? heb je al olifanten en tijgers gezien? Goh, wat zien we uit naar je verhalen in de kerstvakantie. Ik ben bang dat een brief niet meer komt, daarvoor gebeurt hier (gelukkig) te weinig. Vandaar dat we geregeld deze krabbels hier achter laten.
Volgnde week hebben de meisjes in Bilthoven dat kerstbal, moeten nog een jurk zoeken voor Elsemiek, vrees ik. Maar ja, daar zal ik jou niet mee vervelen. En na volgende week....dan tellen we de dagen af.

En trouwens, nu kun je eindelijk lang haar hebben, hè!
Ik had nog niet gezegd dat ik de brief van jou gelezen heb, of wel.., naja, een erg leuke en lange brief vond ik het! En wat leuk ook van je dat je een brief naar Arnhem hebt gestuurd!
Haha, zelfs op de grond slaap je zo lekker dat je in je slaap praat, haha!
Van mamma hoorde ik dat je het al mooi naar je zin hebt. Nog maar een weekje voor het eindfeest en het zit er weer op.
Hier in Leiden gaat het prima. Volgende week weer tentamens..
