As some of you might be aware, last night (Wednesday), three bombs detonated in Mumbai at 18:50 local time.
Raleigh would like to reassure everyone that all of the groups out here with Raleigh India are nowhere near Mumbai. All the groups are over 850 kilometres away from Mumbai and our projects operate in the southern states of India in rural communities where there is little risk of this event impacting them.
We have heard from all the groups, both last night and this morning, and everyone is safe and well out on their project sites. The groups were told this morning about the attacks just to keep them abreast of the situation.
Message for Mother Theresa aka Catherine Playfair of Tango 6 group. Hey London? Hope you're expedition is going really well this time. It's bloody freezing here in Aussie. I'm catching up with Robyn on Saturday. Look forward to hearing how it all pans out. Will reconnect when you're back in technology land. In the meantime have a ball. PS My talks went really well, particularly running the discussion on How to Deepen Your Meditation. Wish I was in India. Love Aussie (currently dreaming of India) xx namaste oo
ReplyDeleteHi Dwayne Robinson - Tango
ReplyDeleteAlmost half way through your first adventure. India is so beautiful, especially with the pictures you are in. You look like you are enjoying yourself. Again, how was the bike ride. Please stay safe. Can't wait until you send me a message.

ReplyDeleteIt was so lovely to hear from you via e mail. Grandad phoned straight away and is currently about to start his blogging career! We can't wait to see you. I'm getting quite excited to think that we'll be at the airport in two weeks. I don't want to wish the time away for you but two weeks doesn't feel too long to wait(for me!)I'm glad you have had a break before the adventure stage. Do you know what you'll be doing? How were the elephants? Totally amazing I'm sure. Hope they lived up to your expectations. I won't send any more letters as they won't reach you in time so expect lots of blogs instead. Take care and keep safe. Love you loads Mum xxxxxxxx

ReplyDeleteMy Dear Yamena
I just wrote you a long message, and I lost it :-((((((((
Now I will write it again....
Now you know in case you get 2 messages ...
Well, better 2 than none ...
I am glad everyone at Raleigh is safe and sound after the sad events in Mumbai earlier today.... Very sad though for those affected...
Spoke to Zandie briefly today and he will be doing his last day at UBS tomorrow. He is doing fine.
Also spoke with Lita yesterday and both her and Toby moon are doing fine. Zandie now takes care of Toby on Sundays , so that Lita can have a day off . Amazing isn't it ?
Please take lots of photos and I just can't wait to hear all your stories when you are back in London.
You must be at least half way though your trekking which is probably the hardest part of your adventure at Raleigh.... Bravo my precious...
I read the blogs everyday and I am looking forward to seeing a photo of you soon.
Love you lots .
Hugs & kisses
Mama

ReplyDeleteHope you see this dearie, not sure if my last one worked. It was so good to see your message from the wilderness this morning, and the photos yesterday, it looks a little damp out there but seems you're all well and happy - and fit!
Letter came from UK about your tax forms, they sent one back as it needs another with it (yes a mystery to me too). I'll write back and might try Viv and Kristin in case you left any info about it with them.
Heaps of good wishes from everyone here and kia kaha from me, you must be half way there by now and I can't wait to hear from you. Time to get more wood in now, frozen feet syndrome...
Much love XX Moi

ReplyDeleteCoucou Pampam,
Maman

ReplyDeleteWell, petaly, just sending you a brief note to give you an update from our new home in Lincoln, NE. Firstly, I hope with your lack of modern amenities (read shower), that you haven't killed any of the wildlife, or your peoople, for that matter (whiffy). I hope you are still enjoying it, and that you are still finding a penchant for 'curry of the day.' We are all in Lincoln safe and sound. D & C are getting used to their surroundings - the D variety more than the C! JJ is overjoyed at the sheer number of golf courses, and has a plan to play every single one of them! We have found that there are a few nice restaurants and have enrolled in a few wine tastings to feed our 'hobby' and also to make some friends. We've sent an email with some photos of our journey, so hopefully, you'll get those. I haven't seen any of your recent pics, but would love to see some of them if you have the means to do so. I started in our new office today, so that has also been a change, but all good! I also took my first yoga class in Lincoln tonight, and I think it will be a great way to find a community here. More stories of your travels, please! Hope Raleigh isn't getting annoyed with my updates - let them know that I'll probably be doing this every week - you need to know the Lincolnites are thinking of you! Lots of love from The Nebraskans!

ReplyDeleteHi Alex,
Just got back from sailing and Michael said you had phoned. Can't believe I missed your call. Anyway he said you sounded happy and ready for the adventure phase, hope it goes well.
I just had the worst sail, very little wind (which was going round in circles) and strong tide. Thought I was going to be taken out to sea until the rescue boat spotted me!!
Well we'll be seeing you soon, enjoy the last week. Much love Mum XXX

ReplyDeleteHi Sam,
Hope it's all going ok and you've built lots of loos!We are thinking of you and wondering how you're getting on.
Poppy got back from Dof E today, only had sore toes and wasn't too tired, was fairly damp but has got her gold. Poor old Millie onthe other hand sprainedher ankle on the second day, all black and blue and swollen, couldn't walk. The teachers ran 4 K to get to them and help her down off the hill. So Poppy had to carry the whole tent from then on.
Rose from America came for one night, not seen her since 1987, it was really fun .She looked exactly the same, just with adde wrinkles. Am off to Harry Potter.
Loads of love, Mumxxx
