Malmesbury arrive....

Our bespoke group from Malmesbury School arrived early Wednesday morning at Bangalore and were quickly whisked off to start their induction at MYKAPS headquarters. With so little time and so much to do there was no chance to give in to the jet lag. They had a full day's programme including cultural awareness, comms and medical training, lots of admin, and of course an introduction to Indian food with a sumptuous curry buffet awaiting them for lunch.

It was a particularly special day for one member of the team, Nicole, who was celebrating her birthday. Cake was definitely in order...and what more could you ask for than a giant pink one, complete with a special lotus flower candle?

The group will be moving across to their project site in BD Munti on Friday morning and we wish them the best of luck with their project.

    Have been looking at the photo's on the blog and it looks amazing - you look a lot thinner! Saw your photo's of your other travels on facebook and you look really well and like you had a fantastic time. Andy also looked like he was enjoying himself surrounded by women!
    Not long till the new arrival so I should see you sometime in September.

    Hi there , just got your postcard, took about 3 weeks to get here, but have been keeping up to date with the 'blog'. Emma and I went to Picnic in the Park last Saturday and had a good day out - we really needed you there too! Been helping Dad with the house - but will be saving all the outdoor patio building for you - don't want to waste all those new bricklaying skills! lots of love Mum and Dad xx

    It's official cuz - You're a cuz-aunt to Babette Valentina Fulcher. Born 24 July at 7.5 pounds in your favourite birth centre after 24 hrs labour. It was harder than if we had to do all our runs, swims, tris together in one day and made to do them barefoot on nails. ooo and you'll be pleased to know I even tried out that birthing stool! Love you cuz. Cant wait to talk to you properly. Am really missing you. ps - can you beLIEVE it - another girl! xx c

We just ended the most exhilirating Cup Match Holiday EVER Somerset had a bad first day and St. Geo knew we had it in the bag But the second day we fought for the runs.     hope you are enjoying the trek. We are just back from Leri for a few days so hope to pick up your exam results today. Will send them to you in a letter! Can you give us the password for your ntl email account - we cant get into it and there maybe university stuff that needs urgent attention. Can you do that as soon as possible? Hope whoever looks after the blog can arrange that.
    Maggie has bought herself a new flat on Gardner street (- the steep one) Ross and Grace are moving into the old flat on Fergus Drive. Building work was racing ahead this past week - electricians putting wires everywhere, a bit scary! lots of love Mum

    Hope all is well and your digging & block laying skills are getting honed to perfection, I've got some jobs lined up for you. When I was a scout first job on camp was to dig the lats & then fight to who christened them, I wonder if you guys do the same!!! Hope you have a lovely birthday we will be thinking of you as always.
    Your trek will be soon, I wonder if you have taken many photo's I hope so, but it's difficult working and snapping.

    Hi Beck - Happy 16th Birthday darling for the 8th August - hope you have a good day - we'll be thinking of you and looking forward to celebrating when you're home. It's good to hear the project is going well, you're all working hard and being well catered for. Just hope you're ok and not suffering too much from bug bites etc. From the write up it sounds as if the scenery is amazing - have you had time to keep a diary and take photos?     I hope you're having an absolute blast out there and aren't getting too lunched by the mozzies and bugged by the flies. As your Mum says, 'tis a tad on the quiet side here, but the weather is actually very nice, for once...!
    I should reckon you've just about got used to all the weird smells etc. and I do hope you've had a proper curry at some point.
