The Workers of Wembley

After 10 days of hard toil Wembley have completed the first phase of their expedition.  The group worked tirelessly to complete 5 toilets for the Ealamanna community.  Members of the community will join the team tomorrow to officially bless the site. 

Last night they celebrated with a pasta and costume party.  On Saturday the group will say goodbye to CTRD and begin their 3 day trek through tea plantations, forests, past waterfalls and finally up the Chembra mountain.  On Tuesday they will be welcomed to Fieldbase and will have an opportunity to visit the famous Mysore Palace as well as the sacred Chamundi Hill and bustling central markets. 

I am sure family and friends will be incredibly proud of the achievements of such a young team, we certainly are!

Thanks for your lovely messages. This is a superb experience for us all. Lots of things to do and see, with loads of friendly people to meet along the way. The village where we are working is almost our second home here. Making progress with the toilets: first one almost complete. Lots of photos and stories to share when we return. Missing family and friends but will see you all very soon.

Hey guys how you doing?  We are all good here, so far we started building toilets, dug 5 holes and nearly completed. It's been hard with the heat and the rain but we manage ;-) Soon enough gonna go on trek, looking forward to it so yeh. We miss you all. We'll be back soon :-)
