Wembley Steams Ahead

The team from Wembley are steaming ahead with their sanitation project in Elamanna.  The group is up to toilet number six which they have built to roof level and cesspit number 2.  It hasn't been all work though, they report many impromptu cricket games with the local community as well as endless games with the kids.
They are now planning to do some teaching with local young ones who having failed in their school classes and despite being only 12 have no further access to education.

On Monday they will be visited by our Loop vehicle which will no doubt return with plenty of stories which we will post, we will also send any messages from home so be sure to leave a comment.

    Hey Guys,

Hope you are having a great time. School seems so empty without you lot. You guys are lucky you are missing the IAAs. Plus, I don't think we will win sports day this year. Looking forward to seeing more photos of you guys.

    Take Care
    See You Soon,
    Luxsiya x

[I hope i am doing this right... ]
Khaled, mum and dad can't get access to contact you because of the internet filters - but they arrived safely in Syria and they send this message:

"Khaled all the family in Damascus loved the group photo. Be tough and survive!"

I can see you in this photo, you're looking great!
I miss you, but can see that you're getting an experience that is worth its weight in gold - WELL DONE TO YOU AND EVERYONE!!!

Wow 6 loos and 2 cesspits already.. well done to all, thats brilliant!

Glad to hear from the blog that you are having a good balance of work and play and also helping some of the local youngsters with their education.. I'm sure you are making a positive difference to them. It's hard to believe that some as young as Amy are without education from age 12.
Home News; Jack back safely from Newquay declaring 'it was the best week of my life'.. arrived slightly battered from an accidental head clash on over-crowded club dancefloor but he's OK.. if not totally sleep deprived!. Amy starts Ballet rehearsals today and is really excited. Isla out and about with friends in the sunshine being girlies. Mam and Dad well and off to Cullercoats today for F&C, Shelagh ready to pop and trying to stay cool in this heatwave we are having, all send their love.
Spain v Holland in World Cup Final tomorrow.. come on Spain!
Make sure to take lots of photos so we can share in your adventure on your return.. thinking about you and cant wait to see you in a couple of weeks.
    Lots and Lots of Love, S, J, I & A XXXX

  13. Hey Guys!

This one’s for Arti. This may sound a little sappy but it IS true what they say... You never know the true value of someone once their gone. Seriously, there’s no one for me to fight with or to simply ignore and even when I’m watching FRIENDS on TV, and I dunno chandler makes a sarcastic comment or something I just laugh and look at the empty couch next to me... (And speaking of TV yes I DID remember to record all the one tree hills and eastenders for you, I am a great sister!) Well the knowledge that you'll be back soon is reassurance enough for me. Mum is more emotional than ever, she still makes your bed - even now that i sleep in it ha! and she washes and folds your clothes, and what really got the water works going is when she saw all of yours' picture in the newspaper! Well to the rest of the troopers, I got three words for ya, stick at it. What you are doing out there is greatness in the making! For all you girls, sorry but if that nail chipped, it's not the end of the world, trust me it WILL grow back. And for the guys, come on Spain!! The teachers and volunteers, thank you guys so much for putting up with that lot, they can be a right handful. Well what more can we say, we miss you, we love you, we think about you every day, and enjoy the moments while they last. Before you know it you'll be back here sitting at home lazing around 24/7, and the highlight of your summer holidays will be a couple of trips down the local chippy! We are so proud of you and apologies to anyone and everyone if Arti's given you any trouble about dogs, bugs, the weather, if she has a little scratch on her arm, etc. You know just typical Arti...

    All our love,
    Priya and Mum x

(PS PS Mr Stocking also told me to say goodbye to you guys since he's leaving this summer, sob. He said have a great time, remember that your representing Wembley out there, we're proud of you, have a great time (again), and don't miss us too much!)

Lots of love, Claire xxx
