Rebounding after a quick recharge

Jason, Lucas, Louise, Will, Mary and Helen connecting to their breathing

After a whirlwind two day changeover the 10E groups are back where they belong......on project site. The groups arrived tired, dirty but extremely excited to see each other and share their stories and field base was a buzz with excitement. On Friday after dumping their kit and having their first proper bucket shower in weeks, the groups headed to Mysore for the much anticipated pizza and internet stop before returning to field base for skits.

Echo Two - with their Bonkers rap
An epic performance by the field base team was sadly not enough to win the prize which went to Charlie One. Indian dancing, singing and a little toilet humour proved the winning combination.

Charlie One - Victorious!
The next day it was time for some R & R – otherwise known as Raleigh Recharge. A local yoga teacher instilled a sense of calm in the group, while a local barber performed cut throat shaves and local beauticians overcame their own fears to tackle our feet and eyebrows!

It was the voice of God who let the venturers know their fate for Phase Two and from the big man himself these are the allocations.

Heading out to Charlie One to take the school to its next level are:

Project Managers – Julie Montgomery and Nick Bevens

Ben Hedley
Daniel Cabral
David Warburton
Gemma Lyons
Grace Rosier-Blackman
Louise Norris
Murugan Sundaram
Natalie Dilloway
Scott Moffat
William Whyles
Yvette Hutcheson
Taylor Eve

Hoping to extend the trench and take Camp Coco to a whole new level in Echo Two:

Project Mangers – Shane (Mountain Man) Shehade and Louise Hyde

Rachel Bachar
Boas Schraven
Jason Greenwood
Stephen Fung
Helen Wakefield
Lucy Jiang
Kiana Franks
Luke Conibear
Mary Jennings

And finally taking on the mighty Misappulimala trek are Tango Three:

Project Managers – Joanna Hawtin and David Rees

Tom Pearce
Anna Lavelle
Carole Griffiths
Kyle Sharpe
Lucas Pyke
Paul Mohan
Rejith
Shona Bradford
Stuart Aitken
Vicky Gould

All groups have arrived and settled in well and sound quite thrilled to be there. Living the dream people, we’re living the dream!

Meanwhile back at field base we said a very sad farewell to Shady, who has quite simply been an awesome addition to our project manager team. She will be missed by the venturers, fellow PMs and certainly the community members at Koolal where she made a lasting impression.

Shady we hope you arrived safely on Monday morning!

Each changeover we put together a slide show for the venturers capturing the highlights of the phase – I won’t put them all here but these are just some of the incredible experiences we’re having out here.

A message for my darling little brother Kyle Sharpe.

Waz appening punk!?!??!!? You look rather dirty and tired and still with a smile on your face, well done you. I must confess to missing you tons and can't wait to hear your voice. I promise never to tell you to be quiet again!

People are following facebook, i will add the contact address but it is a little confusing to grasp, (tango 3 or Charlie 1) although that could be me!!

The scenery looks breathtaking with the most amazing colours in the background. You look like you're having plenty of fun with lovely people with lots of stories to tell.

We are all so very proud of you and somewhat jealous. Be sure to enjoy every second to the fullest. Everyone is fine at home, Chris is like a little lost lamb without you, Jos wanders the house calling out your name and I miss having someone to boss around.

Love you all the tea in China and a couple of quid. Take care, smile and enjoy you know Mum will be watching. Big hugs n kisses from us all, love Stacey xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx

  8. Message for Helen Wakefield.

    Hi Helen,
My travels are over and I've been back in Shropshire for about a week now. It's really weird that you're not here: I'm missing you lots. The photos on the blog look amazing and make me want to do Raleigh all over again! I've been rubbish at keeping in touch so not sure if you're planning on travelling on after Raleigh but have an awesome time whatever you do, make the most of it being socially acceptable to be really really dirty (unless Raleigh India is different to Costa Rica) and make sure you head up to London to see me as soon as you arrive back in England. Lots of love Katherine xxx
