No hotels its just tents on trek

Our bespoke groups from St Helen’s, Hotel 1 and 2, have now finished their project phase and are out trekking. They are currently completing a 15km trek as their last leg of an almighty adventure. Both the groups are trekking on Sigur plateau in Tamil Nadu. Yesterday we were lucky enough to grab a couple of photos of them when our Country Director Mark dropped by to give them a wave from his jeep!

Above: Hotel 1

Above: Hotel 2 at 18km and in great spirits

These photos were taken at kilometre 18 of the longest days trekking at 25km. Both the groups completed the trek of 25km yesterday and are still powering through on their last leg. We’re looking forward to welcoming them to field base in Mysore tomorrow, probably with blisters and very hungry stomachs!

Well done guys!

Say Hi to Alice for me. I love and miss you lots, I've also hijacked your Ipod - got some cracking tunes on it and everytime I play it I think of you.

  13. Hi Atul
Bro you are having,a whale of a time,in Veerappan jungle, where once our dad was hunting hot stories on him.Do not forget to bring some Veerappan memorablia, the guy certainly could teach a few tricks, tom the original legend Robinhood.Just for example, can you point out any where in history a man with a small band of handy men killing such large number of elephents for tusk, felling many forests full of sandel wood, kidnapping an iconic actor, heart throb of the state of Karnataka, and amassing millions of rupees in ransom? they say somewhere in Satyamangalam forest his booty lay buried. No one has ever heard about a more media friendly,"king of thievs".All this in recent history, till he was killed few years ago.To give this camp a bifitting finale all of you should sit around a camp fire and discuss the "improbable in this age and time but true, legend of Veerappan-a forest brigand tuned political phinominon' .And at last he was felled, not in any way honourable, but by deception and deciet.
Waiting for you to come back with stories from Veerappan country.
    Lots'a love
    Ashwin
