  4. Hi Merry

I watch this blog daily, as does Grandma, and it was great seeing your post to Mum this morning, makes you seem a whole lot closer.Hope your hands and back are not too sore from lugging bricks up the hill to the building site.

Wrote to you this morning but that will be the last as the deadline for letters is,I understand, tomorrow.

Grandma joins me in love and hugs.

  5. Hi Merry, I know that Grandad has just sent you one of these. He keeps beating me to it so I thought 'bother him' I am going to send one of my own!! We have just been to some neighbours for lunch which was very nice and meant I have not had to cook today but will have to cook for 4 Thursday & Saturday as Tony & Thelma will be here and then Mum & Dad are coming to join us on Friday. It is very hot and humid today which I expect you are getting used to but I would rather the humidity was not so bad. Also we have had no sun but they say we will have some Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It does not matter too much Friday as I expect we will all be sitting around eating and talking. Hope you are not having too much trouble with bugs and snakes - ugh. I expect time is passing quickly for you as you all seem to be so busy but am glad to read that you are going to have a party. Hope you will be seeing an elephant sometime - I saw some years ago when I was in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) years ago, it was a wonderful sight. The African ones have different ears to the Indian ones.
I know Grandad sent my love to you but I will send mine again! (-:

  7. Hi Merry,
Lovely to hear from you!! yes, i can believe that you are very muddy. I'm sorry none of our letters have made it to you yet, but when they catch up with you, you will have plenty to read! Meanwhile I'll make sure Grandad knows to keep blogging - he's been checking it regularly, so I expect he'll see what you've said. 25C today! Brief burst of summer. Have just been planning food for Cornwall. Loads of love to you darling, from Dad and me. Mum xxxxxxx

  16. Hi Merry,

We're off to Cornwall tomorrow, bright and early even if Theo is still in pyjamas. Snowflake is on my lap as I write, demanding love and attention. i think he has had fleas, as I was bitten all up the backs of my legs after sitting on the wedge that he often sleeps on. I have washed your duvet and closed the door to your room, and needless to say, he has had the treatment! Camile says she will give him and Nina lots of love while we are away. Weather forecast looks reasonable for the early part of the week, though naturally, better in the London than in Cornwall..... The green peppers will be ready to try when we come back and I have frozen lots of beans and blackberries. Snowflake now has his head resting on my arm as I type. I will send you a card from Cornwall, even though it might arrive after you have left. Lots and lots of love - so looking forward to having a big hug when you come back. Mum xxxxxxx
