Field Base Troop Loop...

Alpha 3 - Kurangani Trek

Vijay our Host Country Co-Ordinatior and PRO Suze drove to Kerala to give Alpha 3 their food drop to keep the energy levels high for another 5 days. The group are in great spirits despite the blisters and aching muscles.
As a treat for the group they were given some fresh veg and chickens and so Vijay and Suze were treated to a campfire feast.

ALPHA 2 - Bandipur National Park

Alpha 2 have developed a strong team bond and are excited to see the construction of the Anti-Poaching camp progress so well.
Their enthusiasm and dedication to the project has meant that
they have been able to begin construction of a rain water harvesting unit alongside the Camp for the Forest Rangers.

ALPHA 1 - Kebepura Viallage
The group at Alpha 1 Community site have been working hard and playing hard. They are right on target to complete their allocation of Eco-Sanitation units. They have really become part of the community and in the words of MYKAPS William De Sousa they have "become part of the family. Playing, working and eating alongside the local community members".

Verder gaat alles goed! En natuurlijk missen we je!! Het was heerlijk om je stem laatst te horen. Dag lieverd! Tot 17 december!
    Groetjes, Gertrud

  23. Emmi, Emmi, Emmi, well I hope that all is well in India, and that you've, or will soon receive my letter - that I decorated MYSELF, lol. All is well here. The weather is finally turning into summer - and GUESS WHAT...last weekend I went to Long Bay, for the whole day, lol, and even went swimming :). It was beautiful (but not as cool as India :() Oh and I went straight in, and under the water, not taking as long as I normally do, he he. Hope you come back ready for the summer, and awesome days at the beach. From your soon to be 19 year old friend, ahha – that’s weird.
Oh and I hope your feet are fine, your muscles are big, and your skin is tanned – hehe – and of course that your enjoying yourself.
    Liebe Gruesse
    Ciao Bella

  29. Hi Jen
Dad thought those sore feet were yours, but I reckon I'd recognise your feet anywhere! Still not got a letter, but hearing your voice on my birthday more than makes up for it! I hope you will celebrate your 19th in a 'never-to-be- forgotten' kind of way.
    Loads of love

  30. Hi Emma J,
hope you get the opportunity to post a message. We are like a Jane Austen novel here - "there's a letter...from Emma!" Lani, Sarah and PJ and I all sit reading each other's letters. great bonding exercise and opportunity to eat together too. Don't spend all your free time writing letters this time - write one to share if you like. We only have to write one each, you're writing lots.(we do enjoy them though - they are very good letters!) Lani came over for dinner last night and we celebrated an early birthday - yeay! There's panettone waiting in the cupboard miam! miam! Love Momma J and PJ xxxoxxx

  32. Hi Emma J!!
Fabulous photos!! Mummy recognised you immediately in the misty one!! It sounds like you're having an amazing time!!
Sorry I haven't written for such a long time:(. It's all been rather frantic!
I've just got back from Sydney, which was amazing:). I went to Bar Italia twice (both for dinner)....On the first night I had a tiramisu gelato in honour of you. OH DEAR GOD, the gelato. It was incredible. Words cannot describe how good the tiramisu was (Bar Italia's gelato was voted best gelato in AUSTRALIA). Glebe markets were incredibly cool, too....I bought an Art Deco headband that I'm planning on wearing when we next go to Sohomo together - It girl status here we come!! I have bought you an incredibly tacky postcard, so anticipate that with glee!!
Have handed in le subjonctif, yay. I also went to Taupo last week for ropes coursing, rafting and boozing with my co-future-lawyers....Fun times, but tres tiring (especially with le subjonctif).
    Have fun, homie-cat!!
    lots and lots of love,
    Sarah:) xxxxxxxx
(P.S. Mum has sent the email to gmail:))
