After a few days' travelling with the Loop I'm back at Fieldbase, and so I'll be updating you on each of the four projects during the next few days. Meanwhile, feast your eyes on this. It's the slideshow compiled by David and shown to all at First Changeover recently. It'll give you a good flavour of some of the things your loved ones have been up to during Phase 1. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteHoe is het daar? ik vond het zo leuk dat je laatst belde! Ben zo benieuwd naar alle verhalen! Op de foto's zie ik je af en toe voorbij komen, zo leuk om te zien! Ben erg jaloers, je hebt het vast geweldig daar!!
Geniet ervan kleine! Je mist niet veel hier!Veel regen, veel studeren ben heel druk! had afgelopen weekend huislustrum, was heel erg leuk!

Having said that it also looks very difficult going in some parts and mostly exhausting work too :)hey we knew you'd have fun anyway!Liss I can't wait for you to come home and tell us all of your adventures in your own inimitable,restrained and understated style;)just a month,not long now.
We have been ok too,Dad and I did get to Mans for the long weekend (Jess sent last message small as it was)with Louise and Bob. We spent most of the afternoon they were there on the deck in the sun, it hasn't been too hot here yet(bit cold really)watching the roos near the hedge eating away cos we hadn't mown down ther for a few weeks.Dad and Bob with binoculars trying to work out if there was a joey cos they were lying down,very safari like don't you think?
Anyhoo this weekend we're home and Dad's going to light the oven and subject us,John and Josie, Mim and Trevor to some pizzas, oh boy we'll manage I suppose.

Andrew just got back from the US safe and sound after chased by Sandy. I am going to stay at home for a couple of days and then back to Bangkok shortly.
We've spoke to Natalie about your extension. All set and agreed so you can continue your adventure treks and try Bear Gryll's life style for the rest of your stay in India... ;-)
Will let you know later about your new itinerary. Meanwhile, enjoy the sun and the warm weather. It's cold and dark so early here....

ReplyDeleteLieve Joor, geweldig om de film te zien van jullie, je komt aardig wat keren in beeld, zag ook de foto met de kids samen. Kan me voorstellen dat ze het wel spannend vonden met z'on grote knul van 1.90!! Super leuk alle informatie die ze geven. We krijgen zo een goed beeld waar jullie verblijven. Volgende week kom je alweer terug van fase 2, het gaat heel snel. Voor je het weet zitten we met z'n allen in het vliegtuig voor de kerstvakantie. We verheugen ons enorm op de vakantie met jullie. It looks like my services could have been required, looking at Tango5 slides - one very nasty looking septic toe. Rather a long way to come for a dom visit!
Everyone well here. G&P and co had a wonderful holiday. Tonight I am babysitting the three boys whilst Emma and Phil go and watch Skyfall - we went last week, another James Bond classic!
On a course tomorrow 'practice governance' - sounds riveting!!!

To Jenny Charlie 2 Hello again Jen. Enjoyed the slide show. Say thanks to David, he's doing a great job. You all look like you're having a great time. Enjoy the heat while you can, it's freezing here, had to clear my car from ice a couple of days this week. Phoned Neal this morning to see if he'd be home tonight for his tea. He phoned back to say he was just teeing off at the golf course in Teneriffe and won't be home this weekend, so it's just me here this weekend as Colin's working Sat and Sun. Oh well I'll have time to get my painting done. Took all the donations for Gran to Inver House today, they were very grateful but it was very hard. Maisie is off to her yearly weekend at St Andrews tonight. She always enjoys it and takes loads of photos which we all have a laugh at. Anyway Jen take care and enjoy. It won't be long 'til you're home and I can't wait. Love you loads.

ReplyDeleteLieve Carline, daar gaat hij dan weer ,even een berichtje aan jou.Heel veel dank voor je lieve lange brief met mijn verjaardag,ontzettend dierbaar van je ,maar je hebt me wel veel mooier gemaakt dan ik in werkelijkheid ben!!!!!!Enfin ik zal je vertellen wat we die dag samen met Mam en papoes deden.Eerst in Bilthoven gezellig koffie gedronken en taart gegeten en toen naar Utrecht met mams auto en het karretje.Daar eindeloze winkeltjes in en uit ,geluncht in DE winkel van Sinkel en daarna een nieuwe Jas voor Papoes gekocht en nog 2 mooie truien. Het was hard nodig,want ik denk dat Papoes wel in geen 15 jaar een nieuwe jas had gekocht. Hij heeft wel 3 jassen uit Wenen, maar de dunste was niet meer om aan te zien!! Toen nog gezellig thee gedronken en weer naar Bilthhoven. Om 7 uur hadden we een afspraak met de anderen in Zeist. Q en J konden niet mee, in verband met een toetsweek (daar ben jij dus lekker van af!!!!!) maar Lot en Huug waren er wel,dus dat was gezellig. We hebben op jou gedronken,op je doorzettingsvermogen en de kracht om deze zware 3 maanden met veel lol en zware arbeid te doorstaan BRAVO!! Papoes was wel erg moe, maar heeft vannacht heerlijk geslapen en nu tijdens de 4 uur dialyse kan hij ook nog wat slapen. Lieverd dit was het weer voor even ,we kijken enorm uit naar een volgend bericht van jullie in de nieuwe situatie.Dag schat een dikke knuffel van ons beiden Papoesch en Mamoesch :-) :-) :-)

Just watched the slideshow on the website of you guys, I miss your cheeky smile but it made me giggle. It looks like your having so much fun and it all looks fantastic! I hope it is and your alright.
I had my assessment today :) and.... I got the job, I'm on the standby list for both a Chalet and Hotel Host. However I have no idea when I'll be called out and it could be within the next two months but I'm crossing my fingers and praying I'll be sent out after I see you. I really miss you and really want a cuddle.
I'm off to Wiltshire tomorrow and then Yorkshire to be tortured by the army on Monday haha.
I should ring your mum soon actually to ask her about December. I'll blog you after and tell you.
I'm going to watch Breaking Dawn next weekend as well (yes I am a twilight fan but only of the books but I have to see the film as well hee hee)
Everything seems to be on fast forward atm so it's all a bit crazy.

Many of the pictures of you seem to involve eating and in one of the slideshow shots you appear to be about to tuck into a brick!
It's great to see what the toilets look like - you've all done a great job, hope you're proud of yourself!
I won the scoop of the year at the 02 Awards at Old Trafford last night.
I went with Blaise, Matt and Laura, it was a really good night. Stuart Hall of Five Live presented me the award, he was on form!
My first week in the office has gone well, hopefully got a few pieces in this Sunday's paper, including a PTSD Remembrance Day special starring Bob!!!

Spain was good but weather was mixed ,some rain and some sunny days. Harshal had a week of Spanish classes in Arcos and he has found it beneficial.His last test was a grade B. Both Bas are doing well after their operations. Jyotimami returns to India on the 18th november. Motadada was very happy to read your blog. He said you gave a very good description of your 'home' I am missing you and especially first Diwali you won't be with us. I am sure you will have a wonderful experience of Diwali in India. Will write to you soon

Hey Sam, prachtige foto's gezien van jullie eerste weken, helemaal mee kunnen leven, al is het dan achteraf.. Wat een mooie reis maak je en wat een leuke mensen zie ik overal. Hier zitten we in de drup, maar ja, das altijd beter dan de orkanen die om ons heen elders in de wereld woeden. Als het goed is ben je nu mestputten aan het bouwen, dat is natuurlijk een heel handige ervaring als je weer thuis komt :), lfs moes

Hoop dat alles lukt met de ecogas, denk dat de bewoners heel trots op jullie zijn!
Hier in Nl eindelijk klaar met mijn testweek. Was even afzien maar gelukkig leef ik nog. social level was echt 0 die week, maar heb er wel een goed gevoel over. had 8 testen, waarvan wiskunde echt rampzalig was. Heel apart want ik kende het wel maar haalde echt alle berekeningen door elkaar, 8 kantjes vol geschreven en 3 pennen vermoord tijdens die toets. Verder heb ik ook niet de roem van Fam de Laat kunnen ophouden, heb echt een 1 voor informatica namelijk. Telde gelukkig maar 1/12 mee van de hele SE van Informatica, dus kon me reet met de toets afvegen. Verder gisteren weer voor het weer uitgegaan, was erg gezellig met de jongens eerst naar school in de Posti, samen met blankenstijn erbij. Zo met pap en mam de stad in,want er moet nodig nieuwe kleding aangeschaft worden. En vanavond bij monique eten met oma. OHJA en BREAKING NEWS, oma gaat een IPAD aanschaffen, en wij moeten haar daarin les geven. Ik zei ook al tegen oma, dat ze niet hipper moet gaan worden, anders konden wij haar niet eens bijhouden. enfin, wordt weer gezellig weekendje, en hoop weer snel iets van je te horen zus, beetje te stil nu op deze blog. xx

It's really getting winter now. We've had to scrape ice of the windscreens a couple of mornings this week! Today (Saturday) I will have to take Carlos for a drive because he had a flat battery and needs some exercise. I'm going to Germany at the end of the month, I'll make sure I'll bring lots of MILKA!

ReplyDeleteHoi lieve Joris, ben er eindelijk achter hoe ik een bericht kan achterlaten voor jou. Was natuurlijk niet zo moeilijk maar ja, leeftijd he.
Wat een superleuk filmpje staat er op deze site. Ik hoorde van je moeder dat het heel erg goed met je gaat en dat kun je ook wel zien op de foto's. Mooi gezicht zo'n lange hollandse jongen tussen al de kleine mensen daar.
Je bent nu al over de helft van je tijd daar. Wat gaat de tijd toch snel. Ik moet zeggen, ik vind het echt bijzonder dat jullie dit doen. Petje af lieve schat. Ook voor je zus in Borneo natuurlijk. Top top.
Ik moet je ook heel veel groeten doen van Edgar en van Kaj en Sam. Die zijn lekker bezig op school. Gaat best goed met die twee.

We all (including Grandma) went to the footie again yesterday v West Brom. They lost 2-1 and played awful in the second half. Grandad was going mad as Watson played most of the match and then they only went and brought on Gomez! Went to the Brocket after the match for a few drinks and food.
Sunny weather here today but still a little cold, about 9C today. I'm sure it will be a shock to your system next week when you are home.
Looking forward to seeing you, we have all really missed you. Thanks for the birthday card that I have just opened this morning and your present.

ReplyDeleteLieve Car!Hoe gaat het met je? We zijn zo benieuwd naar je. Wat een leuke foto's hebben we van je gezien op de slide show. Stoer hoor, met die werkhandschoenen en die bakstenen (mag je thuis ook eens doen, er moeten nog steeds bakstenen achter de schuur gelegd worden....) En ook zo grappig om die slapende foto's van jou te zien. Ik herken je helemaal, ff lekker een tukje tussendoor doen om weer energie te krijgen. Het lijken wel vakantie foto's... Ik ben zo benieuwd of je het met je tentje droog gehouden hebt.. En hoeveel WC jullie al gemaakt hebben.. Hier alles goed, gister Rotary Running diner gehad. Wij hadden "het hoofdgerecht" en het was weer heel gezellig. Het is zo leuk om te zien dat iedereen zo zijn best doet voor deze avond! Ik heb trouwens je Iphone opgehaald en je hebt een " nieuwe" gekregen. En verder krijg jij (lees: je ouders) ook 600 euro terug van BA. Dat is allemaal goed nieuws, toch? Mar is vanochtend met haar JCU -groep naar Geneve vertrokken. Ze was helemaal kapot, na haar 12 uur durende acco zeiltocht met Vinea (ze zijn gestart bij Us Hiem en ze zijn langs alle vinea acco's gevaren). Ze had de avond daarvoor ook niet heel veel geslapen en gister was ze om 01.00 uur weer thuis en vanochtend mocht ze er alweer om 07.00 uur uit. Gelukkig kan ze 14 uur (!) in de bus slapen. Pap en Huug zijn samen met Jeroen en Jasper vandaag gaan varen in de Geluksvogel. Als huug zo terug is, rijden we naar Papoes en Mamoes om te helpen bij hun verjaardagsborrel. Lieverd, ik verheug me alweer op 19 november, dan kan ik weer ff lekker met je kletsen! Heel veel plezier, veel liefs en dikke knuffel! HVJ XX mam

ReplyDeleteLieve lieve Carly! Wat gaaf om die foto's van de slideshow te zien! Wat ziet het er allemaal gaaf uit en zo te zien heb je hard aan het werk!! En nu nog 1 weekje of 2 weekjes touren en dan nog lekker een weekje genieten op het strand in Goa! Nou jullie hebben het helemaal verdiend want zo te zien zijn jullie hard aan het werk met wc's bouwen! Hier in Spanje is het helemaal top, heb 2 weken langer bijgeboekt en kom nu de 21ste 's nachts weer thuis, dus pas maar op, 22 december sta ik voor je deur... Heel veel zin om je weer te zien en alle verhalen te horen over India en verhalen over Spanje vertellen! Nou lieve schat geniet er nog even van en over 3 weekjes zien we elkaar al weer, wat gaat dit jaar toch ontzettend snel! Dikke kus van Maxi
