Our final expedition days have arrived and Fieldbase has been flooded with venturers again. We have loaaads of things to do during "Wash-up" and you can definitely look forward to the blog post reporting about all the madness going on right now.
To start, we finally had the chance to collect some photos from Echo 3 to give you a better picture of what Velas was like. If you wish, you can DIY the full Echo 3 story by combining Tally’s blog post with the pictures. I recommend copy-pasting into a word processing programme or a printer-paper-scissors-glue-combination. So here are Echo 3's photos on:
Train journeys:

Steve's Halka Fulka ration for the journey. |
Turtles:

A lesson on how to deal with turtle nests. |

Hatchlings on their way to the sea. |

Baby turtle saying hello. |
|
Not only protecting hatchlings, also adult turtle conservation is a big challenge. |

And sadly, this is one of the examples. |
Path work:
School work:

I'd say it's "nose", but I'm not sure... |

A thank you note to one of the homestays. |
To Christiane at Fieldbase
ReplyDeleteThank you, and all the guest bloggers, for giving us a taste of the Raleigh India experience. It has been fantastic to view the different expeditions without having to leave the comforts of home. The pictures and videos conveyed colourful sights, fabulous view and wonderful wildlife (in particular the baby turtles) and gave us an insight into what our own personal venturer has been up to.
Happy Wash Up!!

ReplyDeleteMiss Fairlie!
Not long now till you are home although these photos look amazing and so wonderful that you could do the turtle stuff last! Also, loving the jack wills t-shirt and conservation briefcase look, definitely bring that one back to Scotland I think! Cant wait till you're home and then my social life can be increased slightly (the mothers are having lunch today - i haven't had lunch out for weeks...)! Anyway, until the weekend, hope the last few days are great and speak soon!!
Lots of Love, Frances xxxxxx

For Rhian Charlie 2
ReplyDeleteHi Rhian! Hope you get this. Enjoy your last day in India. We will be at the airport on Wednesday. It will be odd for you being back after all this time! Miranda might have some data inputting work for a short time if you want it (bit boring but relatively good money like before, students' alcohol intake diaries so could be interesting I suppose!). Can't wait to see you, love Mum xoxoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxo
For Christiane at fieldbase. I agree, you have done a marvellous job of keeping us all informed with your fellow conspiritors, the news and photos have kept us all informed and going, from the comfort of our study chair! I hope the packing up goes well, and a huge thank you to all of you, the PMs and the Venturers for their stories. I shall miss it all. Love Veronica
