ReplyDeleteI made this bloody poem for you:
voor ons verduisterd oog is nieuw licht opgegaan;

ReplyDeletelots of luuuuvvvvvv, lucy xxxxxxxx
Arend,
Remmert
Hi Emmie,
ReplyDeletestunning photos of you bricklaying and with the children in Kebepura. Good to see that you have made a difference. looks stunning. Love PJ and Momma J xx
Hi Emma J,
ReplyDeleteAnother comment! Sarah 'I've failed Jameson' attained A- in both Law papers and she gathers 'that's quite good really'. !!!? So two bottles of bubbles on ice now...and I've stocked up on berocca to help us recover afterwards:) Leilani coming for dinner tomorrow evening - yippee!! We are going to sort out insurance for Starry car over New Year. Looking forward to seeing her.
PJ putting up lights soon - we went up on Franklin Road last night - WOW! Mega wonderful. I shrieked with joy. Will find time to go back after 19 december :) Lots of love Momma J and PJ xxxx

ReplyDeleteHi Jamie,
ReplyDeleteWhen you read this your trek will probably be over and you'll only have a few days left to enjoy a country with a reasonable temperature! The Woolworths chain has (where we got our pressure steamer) collapsed and today had it's closing down sale in Alnwick, so I got there at 9am and ran around like a headless chicken grabbing £5 vacuum cleaners etc. Also a horrible virus on my laptop tried to steal my online banking passwords and actually succeeded in using my mums debit card infomation! But it's all sorted out now, but I was in the bad books again with my mother :( I can't wait for you to come back!!!!! The last week has lasted agggggees and I'm getting impatient now, come back! Love from me x
Hi Sam,
ReplyDeleteGreat to see a photo of you, are you sure it's water!!!You've all done tremendously well on the projects, we are very proud of you.

Lots of news on the email for you to collect
Looking forward to seeing you next Friday - hope you've booked the Singapore trip by now or you'll need a very good book to keep you occupied
Love Mum xxx

Hi Emma J,
ReplyDeleteI thought in this last week, you might be called upon to sing some 'kiwi' songs so I have included two for you - the Māori version of our national anthem
- we are singing it for the Prime Minister on 4 February :)
'E Ihowā Atua,
O ngā iwi mātou rā
Āta whakarangona;
Me aroha noa
Kia hua ko te pai;
Kia tau tō atawhai;
Manaakitia mai
Aotearoa'
plus 'Kiwi Jingle Bells' (by Kim Kindley the very talented, vivacious Principal's PA at ASHS)
'Dashing to the beach in a rusty Falcon ute
Eating KFC, chilly bin in the boot
Pit bull by my side, singing Christmas rap
It's summertime and I'm in my jandals, shorts and cap.
Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas on Cheltenham on a scorching Summer's day.
Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Falcon ute.
Engine's getting hot, so are we inside,
Park in the sand and head for the tide,
All the family's there, Pohutakawas rule,
Christmas Day in the Kiwi way, by the barbeque.
Oh, jingle....(chorus)'
I put in Cheltenham - you can add in any thing you feel like adding.
and the last one...
Twelve (Kiwi) days of Christmas
'On the first day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
A pukeko in a ponga tree
On the second day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
two kumera
And a pukeko in a ponga tree
On the third day of Christmas
....
and so on, until...
On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love gave to me
Twelve piupius swinging
Eleven haka lessons
Ten juicy fish heads
Nine sacks of pipis
Eight plants of puha
Seven eels a swimming
Six pois a twirling
Five - big - fat - pigs !
Four huhu grubs
Three flax kits
Two kumera
And a pukeko in a ponga tree!'
I wonder if you are still speaking to me...??? Tee hee.
Lots of love Momma J and PJ who is in the windy city. xxxxx
Omg EMMI, i thought that you should know that i bought a wind up radio, for R&V oh yeah, well i'll be back soon.
ReplyDeleteciao bella
hi Alex, we are all counting down the days till you get back! Can't wait. i hope that you don't have trench foot with all the rain and that you have enjoyed clambering up hills. Grandma is really worried that the raft that you lot build will fall apart - she of little faith.
ReplyDeleteIf you have access to a phone again, text me and I will ring you, otherwise see you at heathrow. Love you Mum
Lieve Guus-Willem,
Hey guys, hope everything is going awesome and you're enjoying the last couple days of expedition. Looks like Alpha 3 got some crap weather, sorry about that guys.
ReplyDeleteSam (venturer), hope you're washing everyone's mess tins, mr. responsible, you.
Jenny: I missed this and I'm really sorry but happy 19th!!!!! Hope you had a great day and can't wait to hear about Alpha 2 when you get back.
Arend: I had a prosciutto, mozarella and tomato panini today, how was your sandwich today?
Can't wait to hear from everyone when you all get back. Good luck and stay safe!
PS. Raleigh, please stop sending people to that dodgy restaurant at the hotel at Bangalore airport, where all the PMs got sick before they picked us up? I got it too, D+V party on the plane = happy lasting memories, thanks for that.
Heey Guus,
XXX Martine

Hi Emma J,
ReplyDeleteAnother warm weekend - yippee. Sarah is cleaning her flat and has moved most of her stuff back in here. Several people have asked after you - Ashore foods, Poppa Lahav, Mr J, Sophie (from gym) Sam Spathis' mum, Carmel and Ann. (Phew). Hope you all enjoyed the kiwi Christmas songs :):)Spoke to Rosemary - you are welcome there whenever you like. Look out for PJ at the airport as he arrives from Sydney at the same time as you!!!How cool is that. This will probably be the last blog as you leave soon. See you on Thursday night. Have fun cherub. Lots of love Momma J, PJ and Sarah (scrubbing out the shower) J xxx
Haay lieve Guus-Willem,

ReplyDeleteLovely to hear from you today, Happy Birhday again son, hope you had a great day, all our love Mum & Mark and everyone. PS you made your nans year ringing them !! She was going bonkers !! Take care not long now love you xxxx
Hee Guus,
Groet,
Diderik BdH
Heylo Emmi,
ReplyDeleteWow, go Momma J and PJ for their comments!!! I loved the songs, and deep down I too was singing along. Well FIRSTLY, thanks for the letter. AWESOME. I read it out about 5 different times to the whole family who all just laughed…which is a good thing, hehe. It sounds like your having a marvellous time running away from leeches and sliding down hills :). As Momma J said you will be able to carry Ronen in Europe on your newly acquired muscles!!!! YUSS! Summer is sort of here, at last, it’s been like ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ – Great one day and then torrential rain the next (a little exaggeration is never a bad thing), but at least the pohutukawa’s are in bloom :), and the beaches are beautiful.
The girls and I (being the only DRIVER) all piled in to the car on Saturday and went along to Christmas in the Park – Good Times , Good Times – there even was some chugging going on... :p
Well there is not too much more that I can say - for now :p
So Ciao Bella
P.S - Trying to decide what beer to bring to the airport … hmmm? Send me some strong thoughts on this; they may just futter to this end of the world…xoxo
EMMI!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos!! I also think the caption's classic....Robin (who has been looking on the blog) seemed amused.
Glad to hear it's all going so well!! Really, really looking forward to hearing about your adventures on Thursday night, woo!!
